Shreya Sharma

Podcaster | Writer | Marketer

From growing up in the Gulf and studying in Sydney to working in Singapore, Shreya seems to have at-first-glance traversed the globe looking for a place to call home. Yet, the only home she ever found was in stories; the stories of Carl Sagan that inspired her to study engineering or those told by adverts that spurred her on to do an MBA in marketing.

Her search for a career in which she felt at home continued. Shreya tried on various hats. These included selling automation solutions in oil and gas, writing copy for McDonald’s, editing kids’ comic books, and marketing Ultimate Frisbee programs.

However, when she paid attention to what she loved when all was said and done, the answer revealed itself – audio. Shreya found audio, especially podcasts, to be the perfect intersection of all things she loves – science, storytelling, and community.

As she continues to traverse the globe looking for adventures, she now knows that the best ones can be found in sound. Currently, Shreya is writing Inside Podcasting, creating premium content for FRQNCY Media, and helping podcasts achieve new heights with TINK Media.

Testimonials

Working with Shreya has been unbelievably insightful, her approach to amplifying brand messaging was amazingly galvanizing for my company.
Using her empathy, assertion and project management skills in equal measures, Shreya navigated hurdles to deliver results on time...I'd recommend her to any organization and look forward to working with her in the future!
Shreya Sharma has elevated the Inside Podcasting newsletter's overall editorial output...The trust and reliability that Sharma's byline yields on the newsletter allows me to rest assured around the validity of her claims. That type of credibility is worth a mint in media.*
Many may not know that she was an early ally in sharing fiction with the wider world when few people realized fiction shows would grow to be one of the largest audience creators in podcasting. I always stop to read anything I see Shreya write or put out into the world.
We've been hiring a lot of new folks recently, especially those from outside the podcast industry, and the newsletter is the top thing I tell them to subscribe & read since it's such a great crash course on the industry and really has its fingers on the pulse.
I’ve discovered some of my new favourite podcasts through Pods on The Block, especially some niche indie pods. 10/10 would highly recommend it for anyone wanting to deepen their involvement in the podosphere.
